oil change deals?

I didn't like it.... and went elsewhere!

Just struck me as odd!

coz the filters cost more. I bought my own filter and was still willing to pay £15 but they refused - bastards! Had to get my hands dirty

thanks for link and info folks - I presume that the great offer at national tyres is a loss leader in that they will tell me that I need a new set of boots for the old beast!!

Well my car is 1300cc but needs 7 litres of oil.

I'd never let National Tyres spanner monkeys anywhere near it though.

Nope. When I had mine done they didn't try and sell me anything. That said, there was nowt wrong with the car, so I'd have been rather non-plussed if they'd tried.

I phoned my local National Tyres yesterday and asked about the oil/filter change and he was insistent that i needed the £25 fully synthetic version whereas I have a 4w30 Semi-synthetic can in the boot that I got from Halfords which meets Ford Specs .It is for a Mondeo and Haynes book says that is what to use as well.. They are not that bad. A few months back I went for an oil change, as they had no filter I got one myself and went back for the them to change it .They didn't charge me a penny all it cost me was a filter for a few pounds but I think I was just lucky that day, I don't expect it to happen again.

I asked them why they don't change diesel engines oil - answered coz thje filters are too expensive. So I said I'd got one and they still refused. Reckon it's preventing taxi drivers changing their oil weekly?

Got my oil changed today - £15, thanks to the lads in Hull. Great deal & service and no messing around by me!
