peg 306 no fan belt !

car -peugeot 306 m reg 1.4 xl knowledge of cars = not much hello i think that i have driven about 1/2 mile to a mile with no fan belt.last saturday. replaced with new belt today charged up battery which was flat. car started as normal.

problem is that when i open the door to get in or out,the headlights and dashboard lights flash on and off for about 15 seconds there is also a clicking sound like when hazard lights are on.

anybody have suggestion as to what might be the cause ? thanks

i dont know if this is important but it has a standard factory fitted peugeot keypad immobiliser. coolant level is on about minimum.

The alarm is going off. Reset it using the remote key.

thanks for the reply i know i a am a bit thick where cars are concerned its my weakest subject honest.

do you mean just clicking the button on the car key for remote central locking ? as the lithium battery is dead do i need to get new battery frompeugeot dealer ?

Yes, you need to unlock it using the remote, which turns the alarm off. You may also be able to kill it somehow using the dash button to turn the ultrasonic sensors off - look in your handbook.

No, any Mr Minit or similar should be able to sort you.

thanks for your reply. i bin doing some web searches

i think i have arlarm key which will turn it off so as a last resort i will turn off alarm. also i seen mentioned on other sites about disconnecting and reconnecting battery and pressing alarm button near steering wheel. so will give them a try tomorrow. once again thanks for your help and guidance.
