Dear Panel,
I have a mk1 Sierra Estate with 175 / 80 13" steel wheels - the car is our family car and does about 6,000 miles per year.
I am very fussy about keeping it reliable and well maintained and noticed the rear tyres are starting to perish (although lots of tread). I am having difficulty sourcing a new pair of decent make etc..
Giving serious thought to fitting second hand MK2 14" rims and four 185/60
14" tyres (probably Bridgestones) - and thought about blowing all caution and buying four alloys instead.. (second hand).
What is the collective view of second hand alloys ? apart from the looks do they really make a difference to handling (unsprung weight etc) ? Lastly anyone done the above and could pass on tips/experiences etc would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance for all help.
