Vectra Climate Control

Is the back-lighting on a Vectra Climate Contol LEDs provided by replaceable bulbs? Both LEDs are still working and can be seen in good light! Also how do you remove the trim panel to get at anything in this area. The car has a full panel which also wraps around the radio. The Haynes manual suggests in can be carefully levered out using a small screwdriver but I'm not getting anywhere!

Thanks

The piece below the radio is only held in by spring clips, so a thin flat suitable thing can lift it out, sometimes the grippieness of your fingers is enough, with this out you can see the two screws which hold the lower edge of the radio surround, the top of the radio surround just pushes in.

Thanks but definitely a one piece trim panel on mine i.e. wraps around climate control and radio. Seems to be tightly held along the sides.

I have done these in the past, but cannot remember exactly how they are held.

I'm sure there is screws that hold them at top (possibly have to remove air vents, and trim panel around them) and at the bottom (think you have to remove the ashtray). After that it should just be spring clips up the sides, which may require a bit leverage. I personally use a strong knive, as the wide blade is less likely to mark the trim than a screw driver.

If you have any problems I can check the manual when i get back to work on wed.

According to the service info, the bottom of the surround pulls out, and then you pull the surround down to release it at the top. It will make it a bit easier if you remove the switches above the radio (these just pull out).
