What was your first car?

1988 Austin Mini City E. White with "orange" patches. Good engine, crap body. Loved it to bits....literally. I commuted every day into work from St Albans to North West London in it with my two housemates. There I was in the traffic on the A1 in a tiny 12 year old car with two passengers surrounded by huge BMW's and 4x4'swith lone drivers, all of us commuters- did that for about 6 months before the mini got written off in a collision with a company car. :-(

I lost a friend that day....

Metallic Green, 993cc 3-cylinder engine, 45bhp, 55mpg, 5 speed gearbox, remote boot lock, and fully digital LCD dashboard! greatest car in the world for an 18 year old Knight Rider geek! :-) compared to the equivalent Fiesta that didn't even have a glove box it was a palace! Had a gear shift indicator telling you which gear you were in and which gear you should be in, bit cautious though, would recommend shifting into 3rd at 20mph! Girlies loved it though, real character, more than its owner at any rate...

Fantastic car though, light-weight, stiff leafspring rear suspension, cornered really well, which was just as well, cos you didn't break for corners, you'd never get the speed back! Really liked that car, if I could find another I'd get one in an instant! Just for the dash. shame about those worn main bearings...
