my ford escort 1.6 window washers dont work properly, when i switch them on i get a short burst of screenwash and thats my lot, the pump sounds like its working properly, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Vanes may have worn, they're only plastic. A replacement pump from the scrappies is only a couple of quid and a 2 minute swap job.
Have you checked the filter or the pipe/jets for blockages?
