15 year wait is over!

I have wanted one since the first time I saw one.

Found a '96 with less than 40k miles on it and bought it on the spot! I drive her home tomorrow!!!

Thanks to this NG for helping me make my decision, too. You folks are so much nicer than the people in the Chevy Trucks forum...

Man, I thought *I* waited longer than anyone to get a Miata. I first laid eyes on it in the pages of Sports Illustrated in 1989. I was 11 years old. I only had to wait 11 more years to get one.

Nicer than a bunch of truck luvin' rednecks eh? Not sure that's saying allot but thanks just the same.

Glad you've joined us, you'll wish you hadn't waited so long!

My yearning for a Mazda started in high school (1978) when the RX7 came out in 1979! I guess it sort of transferred to the Miata when it came along since I've always been a sports car nut. I finally bought my '92 in '01 so I guess I waited over 20 years! OUCH

OH! You had to remind me...

My first new car was a '79 Chevy Monza. Just days after I bought it, I saw an RX7 and was awe-struck. I nearly died when I found out the two cars were almost the same price!

Maybe I've been waiting longer than I thought, too.

As far as the Chevy Truck NG comment goes, it was a genuine compliment.

Well you young whippersnappers, I remember how I lusted after the Stutz Bearcat when it first came out, but what with the Great Depression, the Big War, the gotta-have-a-back-seat demands of first my children and then my grandchildren, and what not and so forth, I never did get hold of a two-seater (my white '93 B) until just last week.

Already got me three speeding tickets. YEE HA!
