Personally, I'd have tried to get 185/60/14s on there, as they're probably _the_ most common size out there.
(Just about every 80s hot hatch ran on them)

Yeah, but actually how much does it save you? 30k/year is roughly one pair of front tyres, and around 50-60% of a pair of rear tyres. Can't save massive amounts, surely?
And have you downgraded to steel wheels, or have you got 13" alloys? Are they the same style as the original Ka Luxury alloys? Did it affect the insurance much (if at all)? Have you kept the original alloys? (a fool not to IMHO, for the reason of putting the car back to standard once you've done with it).
So many questions........
Peter
Hehehe. No no I think we do okay with full leather interior, ABS, CD and a/c.
£15 per corner, so no not much. But five 13s was £35, and I'll get 20K from the fronts and at lesat 40K from the rears! :)
But the dynamics are improved, too.
Alloys.
No, they're from a mark three sporty Fester. :-/
No difference, they just needed to know.
Yes, but they might be for sale.
And answers too!
But it would have had overly tall gearing... and the standard Ford 14" alloy is just 5J, so a 185 will be a _serious_ squeeze.
185/55 is possible, but I'd not be happy with this tyre on just a 5J wheel myself. In news: snipped-for-privacy@uni-berlin.de, DervMan decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows
But the SportKa is on 16's...
I know, I was next to one before in the Capri... after cleaning my diddy
13"s, I had to chortle..
All wrapped in a tiny little teapot shaped shell with a wheazy and rattly old pushrod lump up front.
It doesn't matter how much kit you throw at a cheap, small car, it'll still be less than ideal for serious mileage.
I find big cheap barges do the job much better, faster and quiter.
Ewwww! You've put those horrible slotted XR2i-alike 13 inchers on it from a Fester Flight, haven't you?

The Saab is the Same. Recommended 98ron. Must be a Swedish thing.
... no space, no power and class leading nothingness...
... oh and it's fugly as well.
Its fuglyness is where it is class leading :)
Ours doesn't rattle, there's more than enough room for me, and it has a decent ride.
What more do I need than enough space to be comfortable, air conditioning to keep me cool, and a good heater to keep me warm?
Speed's academic for my commute.
Enough space for the commute, power is academic for my commute...
:)
Yes (hides). They're not entirely ideal. But for the price and as an experiment to see is 5.5J 13" offset 30 rims work on the Ka, at the price there's no complaint here.

Yes it is. But it also has a wider track and much bigger wheelarches too.
How odd !
Are you sure it's not because they're oldy 4-star cars ?
Heh - it must have a Uranium chassis or something :)
YUCK.
There isn't much worse than massive great tyres on stupid little wheels (non-oversized aftermarket-alloys is the only thing that springs to mind).
Why didn't you change to 185/50-14 ?
Hell, you couldn't even attempt to make it look nice with some 195/45-15s !
EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew !
They don't.
The end.
Little rims don't work on any car - nevermind one that isn't even pretty in the first place !
