It's still down to power-to-weight, although you may be right that at
2000rpm the Ka has a higher power-to-weight. Still, engine torque:weight is meaningless, unless you take into account gearing.

Technically you're right, but it's like everything though... the gearing of the Ka may well be lower, higher, or about the same as the Peugeot... it's just one in a (huge) number of variables.
Driver fear is usually pretty high on the list! :)
