Better Car VTS or VTR

Agreed, to a point.

Again, to a point. 200 PS in a Ka is, overall, likely to be quicker than

200 PS in a Mondeo

See, we agree on some things :)

Its weird how VW pretty much invented the hot hatch, and now all they offer is the Golf (exception of the R32 - but LOOK at the price - more of a super hatch).....

Apparently it's almost undrivable and squirms all over the shop. Then again I know a lot of very odd people including someone fitting an Audi V8 to a Mk2 polo!

But as a more useable car, the Mondeo would be better, although thats not so much the point of hot hatches is it :) Although, when you consider it realistically, you'd have to stick a 2.0 turbo in the Ka which would screw the handleing up no end, well, you could put a RST lump in which wouldn't be as bad.....a lovely old CVH :)

The Fabia has more power but is also a fat bloater.

Why isn't everyone driving round in Lotus 7 replicas they are light, can have quite a bit of power and ca but built for less than £12k. Are they better than a Saxo then? They are also a classic FR drive train.

That must be a comedy drive :)

You could do it R5 Turbo II style with the engine in the back (VW made a Mk2 polo with a supercharged 1.8 flat 4 like that as well but it never made it to general sale).

Especially as it still hasn't got drive shafts. Oh and you can't tell from those photos but the engine touches the seat backs.

Well, perhaps, but then people who need to carry four passengers and cover

1,400 miles a weekend don't tend to pick hot hatches, or hot "Mondeo" sized cars. They'll want a smoother ride, for one.

Spot on. A proper hot hatch has to goad you with insults until you spin it.

No, not "no end" but it doesn't have the lesser models' finess. The 240 PS odd turbocharged 2.0 ZVH conversion in the Klub is quick, mightily quick actually, but punt it into a bend and I'm told it takes time to adjust - the

1.3 has rapier like responses. It's running standard suspension and 15" wheels, and the 2.0 ZVH is probably at least 50 kg heavier, too.

Puttup!

Lots of things, we just don't advertise it, heh! :)

But the R32 has no soul, and no Golf badge on it, either.

I'm sure I read that VW were considering gas turbines to move the mark five Golf's bulk.

But in the case of the SportKa i think this pretty much sums it up :)

Cos you have to build them, which is beyond 99% of the populous, and also, they are inpractical in a new way :)

Reply to

They need to think of something, i had a go at a 2.0 GTi the other day, and it wasn't any quicker than my rattly old 405 :)

They don't look that hard to build, I've got a hammer and a 13mm spanner. Tough I would have to do it on the road as my drive is full.

Fiat are very generous with their discounts these days :)

Anyone else get the impression this whole thread was supposed to be a troll? Anyone that watched this group would expect such a question to be met with mockings - i'm sure the last thing expected from praise from you Lordy! Then when they said they wanted to mod it and still no one got mad and said buy something else, they're too common etc!

Dissappointed in you all :)
