That would be a help. If I could feel when things are actually happening, I would know when to press harder, or not so hard. And if it feels good, it will instill more confidence.

Even so, that's still overweight by a large margin, IMHO.
It's over 800kgs heavier than the 75, and around 400kgs heavier than the Passat, which itself is a bit of a lardy old thing.
Of course, the iron block doesn't help. ISTR the 155 8v is lighter than the 16v by around 150kgs as the 8v cars have an alloy block.
Jeeeeeeeeeez. Even with the lump of pig iron up front and 4WD drivetrain the Sierra is only about 1300kgs i think! Thats disgraceful!!!
You've got it in one. ;-) Unless they're using some magic reinforced 'rubber' too.
No, but we do have them on the race car for a reason.
They help reduce brake fade - at least they seemed to on mine, i'd say they definitely do help you stop quicker but only when heavy braking from relatively high speed.
aaargh, i'm trying not to even think about it. :D
Even the stripped out, but caged and braced rally car weighed more than your sierra.
I was sure the Vin plate said 18(something something)kg, but apparently I was wrong.
I've ordered a set of Fensport ones. Should arrive tomorrow.
May do a trackday one day. Keep planning to, but have never had a car completley sorted enough. There is always something I want to try to sort first. The Celica is getting closest.
It's only around 180 kg lighter than the bloody Range Rover, ffs.
LMAO !
The numbers on the VIN plate are maximum towing weights and other such things !
...you mean 1400Kg.
That's because 1400Kg is the actual weight :)
Which isn't bad for a 4x4...
It would be if it were correct :)
In fact, it weighs 100Kg more than the Sierra :)
Yep - they only cost about £30 so you may as well.
I did them on the TI when I did the discs and pads and 5.1 fluid - road-car brakes are usually woefully underspecced so it's worth uprating everything when they wear out (unless you drive like a girl, obviously).
in news: snipped-for-privacy@news.individual.net, Sleeker GT Phwoar slurred :
No way. Various sources on google come up with a kerb weight of 1440kg, and carfolio.com reckons 1520kg, which still makes it a bit of an ocean liner :-)
Nope, that's not just overweight, it's laughable. My car has an iron block AND head, and still weighs under 620kgs with a full tank.
Even if it was built today, it'd be a wobbly fat f***er, for a few years ago, I can't understand their rationale....
Nope, gross weight, I was wrong. It wasn't 1800, it was 1600(and a bit) kilos.
