It was the old 2.0 8v as found in the 405/Xantia/306 XSi 8v with a low-pressure blower slapped on.
Well it made 30bhp more than the NA version. And it'd obviously be a nicer drive.

18s will do just fine thanks. 406 Coupe takes 225/40 rubber on an 18" rim, so they'll be pretty nice :)

I think you've made the right choice. From a piddly little turbo to a proper engine.
You won't regret it, besides, a hard driven V6 won't be any worse on juice than a hard driven piddly turbo thing. It'll cost you an extra £10 a week, and after a couple of weeks you'll be thinking "why the hell did I ever drive something with a little engine.."
406 Coupés are gorgeous as well.. Especially with leather and all the toys.

Detuned? Nah, just tuned differently. They're much nicer than the 2.0 atmos, okay so there's only a little big extra power (up from 137 to 150 PS) but stacks more torque (180 to 190 Nm to something like 235 Nm) and available over more of the rev range. In the real world they're more economical at a motorway cruise, but when driven hard they're juicier.
I liked the low blow 2.0, I tried several for the fleet in Norwich, but the guys were all "eww that's boring, I want a turbo Golf, that's bound to be loads quicker, it's a GTI innit?" heh.

In Aegean Blue ;) Like mine :D Only, he tells me that blue on the coupe is different, although i suspect he might be wrong :) Although now i think about it, Aegean blue didn't become available on 206's till the GTi 180 came out, and i can't remember when that was, if it was after that was made? Dervy?

Parkers tells me it is probably Hyperion blue, as they were only available with Aegean Blue (like the 206) from 2002 onwards. Looks the same in the picture to me though :)

Even though it makes slightly more power and torque (210bhp and 285Nm vs
200bhp and 240Nm) than the "piddly little turbo" it's not gonna be anywhere near as quick. The V6 Coupe is a whapping great 1450Kg :DTI only weighed 1300Kg, and mine was fettled from ~10psi to ~12psi...
Yep - that's what I was thinking ! It's got a 70l fuel tank though, so every fill-up is gonna make me go "DOH !". TI only had a 50l tank.
