Yep. But it'll cost you big bucks, won't be reliable, and will still be an Escort.

Yep.

99% of the time, it's better to simply buy a faster car !

Anything is possible. Unfortunately, you've started with one of the worst turbocharged hot hatches ever made, so it'll cost you loads and be a bag 'o' s**te.

Cosworth will cost more and be expensive to insure, but it'll still be cheaper (probably on both counts) than an RST.

You can quite easily get an RST up to 260bhp. You're unlikely to do it reliably without a 1.9 (or larger) engine conversion though. Three or four years ago, it seemed that every tuning mag would feature an RS Turbo, a Renault 5 GT Turbo and a Peugout 205 GTi every month. Nowadays they don't feature as much because the Saxo brigade have taken over.

If you read these pages, you can find out more about what you can do, and more impotantly, how much it will cost:

Are they professional tuners? I can understand it then - it's their marketing budget, after all.

Otherwise, WHY would anyone spend supercar-money on a Sierra???!?!?!?!?

So will a cossie, assuming he doesn't want a rust heap, or an even more over priced ford.

Your right they 'don't but they don't make escorts any more either. They certainly did though.

Steve. P.S. I'll bet you and Escort Cosworth, 'un-driven' thats for sale down the road, that they do!

No, since they haven't made Escorts since 1999. However, they did make an Escort Cosworth, Clarkson owned one and raved about it, it's based on the 4x4 Sapphire chassis but shortened, has a f*ck off huge whale tail and flared arches, and is often regarded as one of the best cars Ford ever made - something I personally disagree with, but that's because I consider American Fords to be Fords ;)

shortened by 7 inches uprated drivetrain first of the 16 inch wheeled mass marketed cars (unless you want to count the intergrale evo 3 which had 16's on it at about the same time) the lst goes on

No such thing as an Integrale Evo 3. It's just an Evo 2 with a catalyst.
