There's a video:

Camera man says he walked away from the crash, but if he did, it must have been some sort of delayed reaction before going downhill from there.

Fingers crossed he's OK.

Looks nasty. I wouldn't want to scrub a tyre on the Elvington surface, never mind any body parts.

Who is going to look after topgear dog? Wouldn't trust it to Clarkson.

It might be that Leeds was the nearest place with a heliport hospital? Hope he pulls through, he's a legend :-) I have to go there for some surgery myself in a few weeks, wonder if they'll let me meet him assuming he's ok :-)

Nearest place with a Specialist Neurosurgical department.

He's been getting a lot of attention - I work next to it. Lots of visitors, well-wishers and media.

Sadly though, Clarkson may be right with his closing comments. I hope not.

"Leeds General Infirmary is a no star hospital. According to the bureaucrats, it's terrible. But trust me on this. From where Richard Hammond was lying, it was about as terrible as Angelina Jolie's left breast."

Hehehe :-)

"Pick me, Pick me!"

I drove past Leeds this AM and was very tempted to stop and give my best wishes, but I've decided to a) write to the BBC and demand that TopGear is not messed with any way at all and b) donate to the air ambulance.
