Different opinions to how the name came about.

1) the heavy squashed look like it was made of lead and trying to melt. 2) the serious amount of real lead filler used to hide grinds and weld after chopping, channelling, deseaming and de-handling the bodies.

It has doors. Traditionally Leadsleds used solenoid operated door with a button hidden somewhere. I imagine these days, they would be wired into a universal central locking system instead, or even remote operated lectric windows to get to the inside handle.

It's a 51. I prefer the 50 with the twin spinners on the front. There was a really nice one in the crappy Stallone movie "Cobra". It was chopped and running moon disks and nitrous.
