Well done. Just don't take it too seriously, and spend all you time searhcing for vinyl in that exact shade of brown for the door cards.

Strip out the carpet annd sound proofing and add some alloy floor plates. Remove the door cards, and make your own out of Carbon and alloy with perorated leather armrests/handles, custom speaker pods and an electric window conversion. Lose the rear seats, box the rear and put a decent small but quality sound system in there (unless it is a 4 door). Get some later tidy ford leather seats (Mondeo/Scorpio). Minimal, but comfortable, basic but tech, simple but detailed. Oh, and 4 link it, stick in a RV8, paint it black and black the windows.

Blown GT40 V8 would be a good start.

Precisely. Unless its a RS2000 or a Harrier, mod it to hell.

Nah, stick with Ford. V8 as mentioned above :)

Or a Mexico...

This is my second I wrote the first one off about 5 years ago a week after i passed my test, a little too much oversteer.

Couldn't find classic ford anywhere that was open last night but will try whsmiths tomorrow.

Its a S reg 1.3L 4 door metallic blue, arches and strut tops are ok it has RS4 spokes fitted.

I payed £325 for it No tax or Mot but its fairly tidy

Thats it but 4 spokes rather than the dog legs.

I've been looking at CAM's today, Kent want 165 for a brand new kit or

133 for a kit with a re profiled cam thats the Sports R model. But other than that not sure what to start with. I am thinking of going for the Rally Interior, and want to get a mexico spoiler for the front.

I hate RS2000's I just don't like the nose.

Hope so too - those wheels in the pic _really_ don't suit it.

(BTW agree with you about the RS2000 4 headlight nose)

cheers, clive

NOOOO. Never enough oversteer. Just need ot learn to feather the throttle.

Looks it.

Phew. Those dog legs look feckin horrendous. Still, some Chav will buy them on E-Bay.

Aye - the Mex spoiler is pretty much a requirement. I'm all for keeping the rest standard apart from changing the full length bumpers for the short corner ones. At least it's not got the square headlights.

I'd start off with sorting out the suspension. Link kit on the rear, strut brace and polybush all the suspension. If you can get an antiroll bar from a RS2, do it.

I'm not too keen either but they fetch stupid money.

Not heard of a Link kit before I'll look into it, also what webbers fit on a 1.3 x-flow? not to worried about mpg as its a second car

Not picked it up yet as it needs to be trailered back and i live 70 miles away

I'd start by welding up all the holes and trying to get an MOT :-P

I adore 2 dr Mk2 Escorts, but the 4 dr ones should be banger raced immediately. Bloody horrible things.

I spose this is why you can pick up a 4dr for £325, but a 2dr is at least £1500.

I'd love another one though.

It's probably so rotten you may was well convert it to a 2-door given the amount of welding it'll need.
