Gah. Useless fingers.
Did you read my other post somewhere about the Civic Type R vs normal 2.0 power graphs link?
And for the Passat - sell it and buy a Mundano? Or slam it to within an inch of the ground on really wide 18s :-) ?
Yeah, that's probably the sensible thing to do. It also has the advantage of pissing my boss off further - he *hates* mondeos :D
I can imagine them probably being more user friendly, it being every rep's devastatingly quick cross-country weapon of choice. That and it being a more modern design too.
Probably the speaker setup - my A6 had a reasonable stereo in it, but the speaker setup definitely wasn't anything to write home about.
Ho yuss - lovely dash design, shame about the seat comfort. If I could have had some really nice seats in mine (electric cream leather custom jobbies) then that would have more or less ticked all the boxes. Well, apart from the "load space as big as a Citroen XM Estate" one.
Cool - I loved the free-revving (as diesels go) nature of the I5, the meaty sound when revved, the frankly smooth sound when idling (a much more nicely rounded sound than most 4-pot dervs I've heard). A bit more torque below
2000rpm would have been nice, but one gets used to driving it accordingly. Had a VW LT van on hire a little while back and it reminded me how fantastic those engines sounded, and the general impression they give that they're absolutely bulletproof and sound like they'll run forever (shame they're not all that economical in the van compared to its peers with their 4-pot engines, and shame the van has an interior from the 1850s, also shame it's belt driven when most of its peers can boast chain driven engines really - other than that I actually quite like them, even though they are very old-skool van to drive and be in).But the economy - not much better than the A6 you say? Figures?
Me too, but I soon got used to keeping it on boost a decent amount at all times (i.e. well into it, like at least 2200-2300rpm). Made driving infinitely more enjoyable and if anything, fuel economy was actually slightly better. Seriously. If that meant being on the motorway in 5th instead of 6th then so be it.
Heh, easily done, I think. Aim for about 400bhp :-P
Hehehe, that's one way of putting it....
