Saab gone :(

An older gent from Morpeth who had bid on my Ebay auction, came and looked, and made me a fair offer to cancel the auction and sell (he did see the Autotrader advert). He got it for just less than I said I would leave the stereo in for, but I chucked in the Blaupunkt stereo.

I got me space back, and a reasonable price to a guy who will look after it (has been looking for about a year for the right price). he got the car he wanted, and didn't argue about the description or condition.

He accepted it was a fair price for the car.

Woohoo. I'm out of the s*it with the missus, but Boohoo, I've last my Saab.

:o) at least he seemed like he'll take care of it...

i'll be parting with the old MK1 MR2 soon and i don't wanna let it go!

still MR2 turbo in something like 2 weeks-ish time!!!

just out of interest, how much is it likely to go up for? and can I get classic insurance on one??

Lost

Its always mixed emotion when you sell a car. The sadness to see it go and the excitement of what is coming next.

Fraser

  1. Go to car dealer
  2. Buy another saab, this time with a bigger turbo
  3. Get flowers from garage on way home...

dunno will probably ask for £700 as it's an early spec one which are getting rare now and yes can go on classic insurance too!

and if it's anything like my house...

step 4 - find somewhere else to live

Well, I've got the GT4 already, so that bit is gone. That is why I need the space.

Oh no, don't pay stealer prices. Buy one from someone who cares about the car.

Well already had that arguement. I wanted either the latest model 900 T16S (like mine, but in black with leather and aircon, with the facelift), a 9000 Aero or Carlsson CD, or a 900 Cabriolet injection. Bit she still said they were too big. Hence why I got the GT4.

Might do that anyway, for her putting up with my obsessions.

Nah, love her really. But will need to wait until money is better before I think about a project car, and get myself a lockup.

I have to do this regularly...

Always worth doing ;o)

Now, I just so happen to know a man who's got a load of Celica GT4 Mongoose stainless exhaust systems...

Want one? £200 (should be something daft like £400)

heh, would an M reg Saab 900 V6 in black grab you by the testicles shouting "buy me, buy me"?

Cos if it would, I know where there's a stolen recovered one for the princely sum of £350..

Isn't that about all a Cavalier V6 is worth?

Dear god no, why would I want a manky cam belt GM V6.

When I said latest model, I meant 1993, last of the real Saabs. Exactley the same as my old one, but with the slopy front, and north- South engine, but the stronger box and the easier to spool up Mitsu turbo, of course a 1992 would be better, then i could legally throw away the CAT, and free the spirit.

I don't want some manky Cavalier in drag.

Oh please pete don't

But I know a few people who might for that price.

Are these full systems (CAT back I assume), which GT4 are they for, how=20 many, and what sort of price for a groupbuy.

I think some people on the GT4OC site might be interested.

Shame. I was just talking to my housemate about your car yesterday, saying if i had the money i would buy it :(

Although i'm gradually persuading my other half that SD1s arent sad, and in fact they're very cool. Although she still takes the piss out of me for standing in a car park taking photos of a gold SD1 V8 S with gold wheels whilst drooling uncontrollably :)

you say that, but i have yet to sell a car i have bought :) i've either still got them or i've broken them up and sold the bits :) or the insurance has paid out on them :)
