Said Corsa is usually outside kwikfit nr Meadow Hall. The lad who owns it was really pleased with his 500bhp Corsa (I had to pretend to be impressed as he showed me the calibra turbo engine under the bonnet).
Interesting car yes, but 500bhp through fwd ? Seriously doubt it.
Oh, and he did not build it.. it was somebody else's project...
I thought it went quicker with 4 lads clad in tracksuits and caps... ?

Around here, for me it is a combination of both. The roads are busier, there are more cameras, and it's simply not safe to do something like driving a 34mile round trip in 1/2 hour (including picking up some chips). IIRC that was an Opel Manta doing 120 on some B-roads for a little stretch and not really dropping below 70 for anything (except for one corner, which I'd already learned when racing a Probe was to be treated with respect. Fast in and faster out doesn't apply when out is achieved backwards).
The Supra's limits are way beyond common sense on the public highway levels in the dry, and at least with crappy Kumho tyres, sitting breathing on your neck the whole time in the wet. The Beetle is worryingly competent for a 1.6; had it up to 110 when chasing a BMW "M3" full of chavs down the A68 and discovered their car couldn't corner as well as mine, The Volvo is a Volvo, and therefore actually pretty quick, but dull and ancient, and the Sera is a frantic little buzzbox automatic with a 1.5; a hoot to drive, but skittish.
I'd love to get the Supra onto a decent, wide track though.
I was always a calm, well behaved driver when I first passed. Then I got my first 'courtesy car' - my Chevette went to a main dealer for new suspension, and they gave me a brown, C-reg Nova Saloon.
That did 88 in third. I don't think the Chevette did 88, period.
Warning to old people in the 12v model that they're going too fast and should slow down and hold up people in 2CVs like they were told to by the Vauxhall dealer.
Never tried the top speed of my 7 series ... but the citroen axgt i modified was good for 132mph (@8100rpm). That was verified on gps as the speedo needle stops when it reaches the limit peg. Wot a laugh!!!
MR2 has a rep for swapping ends at high speeds. Generally the limiters kick in at 190. The GTR was solid as a rock at 190. It felt better at that speed than my wifes Hyundai Excel at 80.
