UKRMods hall of fame 2 - names

Well now we've established what everyone looks like but what about the names we choose for ourselves. Sadly this rules out those of you who use your real names.

I'll start with me - fishman. Well back in the day I used to have a CB radio and my grandfather, who introduced me to CB, had a friend whose CB handle was frogman. I liked the name frogman and because my grandfather lived quite far away I decided the handle would be available for me to use. However, the first time I managed to make contact with someone on my own CB I was a wee mite and a bit nervous and blurted out "fishman" and the name stuck. Was quite appropriate as I lived in Grimsby at the time.

Ones that intrigue me:

AstraVanMan (I don't think Pete's had and Astra Van since I've been on these groups)

Burgerman (Another Grimsby person so maybe the reason's similar to mine, or maybe not)

Nom (Well it's french for name?)

Vamp (Guitar related equipment? Drinks blood? Or is a seductress?)

REMUS (Named after the exhaust or the one Romulus killed?)

SteveH (Is really called Vincent McSolomon, surely)

Sleeker GT Phwoar (Someone help me here, I don't have the slightest idea...)

DanTXD - The 206's number plate was ending in TXD, and i already used TX2 for no reason i can think of, so i went with that.

There's someone in the ng with the e-mail addy of 'UncleFista'. I don't really think he should reply to this thread...

It's a shortened version of "Simon" backwards.

Chet isn't my real name but i've had it since i was about 2 years old. To explain where it came from you'd need to hear me tell it with the irish accent...

70% of people who know me don't know its not my real name :)

Allmy usenet names have been related to what I have been driving at the time. Skodapilot, the estelle and the Favorit. MeatballTurbo, it was swedish, meaty, and had a turbo, what else. Sleeker GT Phwoar=Celica GT four obvious if you think about.

Did think about SushiRacer. Was sure I was getting something Jap this time round, was set on a generation 4 Prelude VTEC, but got sidetracked by the celica before a decent manual import came up in budget with a sorted cambelt.

Well I haven't a clue what anyone looks like, but I'm going to be a bit disappointed if PeteM (scouse limo guy) isn't a carbon copy of Alexei Sayle's character in Gorky Park.

Have no idea why either.

Cheers.

OK so you can make us all a nice little WAV file :)

Dammit Carl you showed an almost American standard of lacking in sarcasm or irony!

Yeah its the roman legend.

Better than my old Half-Life 1 screen name, L-E-M-O-N-P-O-P because I used the florecent green robot skin in deathmatch...... I think I was only about

15-16 when half life came out?

Well, it does take a serious ammount of effort to be that dense on a Friday, while giving up Smoking and handling both customers and account managers by email and on the phone.

Close, but not quite. Similar sense of humour and hair, but less style in a suit :)

Indeed. I was obviously baptised with mine, my siblings were named, by father, as Sureabout This 1 and Sureabout This 2 but when it came to me, apparently things weren't so clearcut.

In news: snipped-for-privacy@news.individual.net, Sleeker GT Phwoar decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

Heh... Lenin would be proud of my taste in suits.

A dapper gent if ever there was one.

Anymore thoughts about the wacky-races Limo?

mine came about at school as all i did back when i was 15-16 is watch buffy the vamipre slayer and come out to see my mates late evening hence vamp. kinda true but work makes me go out in daylight now :) sadly not very exciting!

my x box live name is 'Lemon Eyewash' as it makes me respond with a plumbers teeth drier at the very thought :)

Blame the chillies.
