That must be some impressive mpg figures.... better than the 405 could manage :)

I'm on holiday now so we must have another meet (near me with little driving again cos i'm poor :) )

Not really *shakes head* just over 41 mpg.

Had a problem with a binding rear brake drum . . . :( and at Interford, had to run the engine and air conditioning a lot to keep our kool box kold, so the average was pants over that bit, too! :(

Heh! 2,500 miles in the last week . . . ;)

Sboro's not too far from you :)

-- Dan

Heh! ;)

The lad's back to the garage both this weekend and next /cough project X/ so we'll have to wait and see. Drop me a note at if you want . . .

And in other news dojj is quoted as saying:

Cheapsake!

Dervman i have 5 english pounds here with your name on it!

That's very generous!

Cheques should be made payable to "NSPCC Registered Charity," or you can send cash to me - drop me an email at and I'll send you the address . . . :)

And in other news DervMan is quoted as saying:

What? I was just amazed of the coincidence of me gettin a fiver with your name on it ;)

Done :)

This was when your car was barely quicker :)

Ditto my TI !

:D

Because a Ka has two holes in the footwell a la Fred Frintstone? It shouldn't have used any fuel ;-)

Odd innit, how you buy a petrol, turbocharged car and it takes a while for the fuel consumption to sink in, then you take the attitude "oh what the hell...."

Because I was hoping for around 45 mpg . . .

But, but, but....... I thought a turbo was supposed to make the car more fuel efficient. :)

Yup, it took a two-tanksful run home from London (c 400 miles or so) to make me realise (and that was before mods!)...8-o

Yup - doesn't bother me in the slightest. I only get about 50 miles less per tank (250 vs 300) than I did from my Pug

405 (2.0 8v NA), so I actually think the TI is pretty good.

I think it does, at cruise.

400 miles per tank, is about the same as I got from my 2.0 8v NA Pug 405, on a motorway run.
