| IF it is the inner boot, why not just leave it alone ? Will it hurt | anything ? How often do you take the shifter off anyways ? After it is | all set, I would not bother really. The stops are no longer needed so | no need to check them either.
well, i really don't need to at all. i went back in to check the bolts and all, and that's when i noticed it. it just got me to thinking about how the gasket will hold up over the long term. it looked a bit gnarled after only a couple weeks; i wonder what it will look like after a couple of years...
