85 5 lug conversion problem

Mar 06, 2004 1 Replies

Well, my 1985 GT 5 lug conversion has begun. ( I obtained a rearend and front spindles etc from a wrecked 95 GT donor car ) I purchased a set of cobra replica rims that are 17x9 that were originally for my 95 GT, I was hoping to use them one my 85 instead however I dont think they are going to fit.

What is the widest rim I can put under the 85 when I install the 95 GT rearend? How about the front? I hace the 95 GT suspension for that too.

If I have to change rims I was thinking of Welds... Opinions please.

Dave

I think the width is fine it is the offset that is wrong. The 95 rear end is wider than the fox rear end. I'm not sure of the exact offset but you might find it here.
