I hear what you're saying, but you're in the minority (by far.) Exhibit A - the number of Mustangs sold with the V-6/auto drivetrain combo.

A lot of people (older, more mature people included--ie: non-teens) want a car with a little pep, gets recognition, and is fun to drive. An automatic V6 Mustang (and 5-speed manuals too) give this.

I realize I'm going to get looks of disapproval for this (I do see where this is crossposted, after all) but IMHO a "little" pep doesn't cut it, unless it's got godlike handling (it doesn't) and "gets recognition?" give me a break. Another bellybutton Mustang, big deal. I'd rather take the same cash and buy me a vintage 64-66 stang, were I looking for something with a blue oval on it. I've *driven* a late model V6/auto stang (rental car - for some reason it's difficult to rent a Cobra R ,) it was an OK car I guess, but just didn't excite, and the interior sucked butt, cheap plastic everywhere. I just really don't see the point in buying a 'stang without a V-8 engine, it defeats the whole purpose of the car's existence.

Hopefully the '05 will be a little more tasteful inside, 'cause the exterior design kicks ass.
