Re: Stupid Car Tricks

For me it's the other way round. My Camaro is a Convertible and I drove several Mustang Convertibles before I bought the Camaro. In the Mustang the correct seating position (leg and arm wise) brings my head dangerously close to the upper end of windshield frame. In the Camaro the lower seating position removes this problem. Obviously this specific problem would not exist for others of different height and build. I still like the Mustang but for my personal comfort and safety I think the Camaro is the better choice.

Nah, I don't get pissed over Usenet any more. It's just not worth the effort :-)

I tried to get a point across to CJ. He failed to see it, maybe because of my description skills (I am not a native speaker), maybe because he has a general problem with comprehension. But then he tried to turn the whole thing into a brand war and thus I concluded he is either a kid or a very immature adult. No crack there, just an observation. Anyway, at least I managed to get the point across that I am not interested in a brand war...

Great, except that the guy you are replying to is not a R.A.D. regular.

Of the four threats of physical violence I have received in 10 years of usenet yours is by far the most pitiful. I am an ex-soldier myself and in my unit you would have been whacked upside the head for behaving like the bragging little brat you are in here.

At what point was there any threat of physical violence? It was a statement of fact. People steer clear of angering me because of my size and appearance, until they get to know me. Obviously you have no idea of how the law works regarding tortes or civil law. Under the torte system of law, if I'd said "I'm gonna kick your ass", that would be assault. If I'd actually done it, that would be battery. I neither stated I was going to touch you, implied I was going to touch you, or in actuality touch you. There was no threat. You sir (I say loosely) are a moron.

So what made you brag about your physical size and military career when I was remarking, that most people who bluster in here turn out to be rather docile in real life?

Where did I claim it was assault? I said it was a threat of physical violence and that it was. And if you are the honorable ex-soldier you claim to be you won't try to weasel out of it.

Oh my, now you are scared of being sued all of sudden. Don't worry, I feel sorry for people like you, so I won't.

Good boy, you are doing your english homework. If you keep trying for another, say, 10 years, you may get it right, kiddo.

Yea, but it would be great if the light bulb would snap on and they WOULD offer it with a few more horses. Then all that ugly wouldn't be so hard to look at.

Well, for one, I wasn't bragging. I was just stating a simple fact in response to you. Here again I'll quote you...

I was just proving you wrong again. Seems to be a habit I'm forming. Either that or you just have a habit of being wrong.

A "threat of physical violence" equals assault, although the reverse is not always true. I never threatened physical violence against anybody. Let me quote myself this time just so you can't go on saying I did.

In article , 66 6F HCS

At what point was there a threat against anybody? I said that people don't mess with me. I never said that I mess with people. Are you sure you didn't ride the short bus to school? You can't seem to grasp simple concepts even when clearly explained.

Honorable enough not to back down to a d*****ad who seems to think the best way to pull his head out of his ass is to load up on refried beans and shit it out. As I quite succinctly explained in very clear terminology, there was no threat to anybody.

OOOh I'm so scared of a mental defective who has no concept of logic or intellectual honesty. The only time I'd be concerned is if I'd actually broken any law, which I haven't. That's what I was explaining to you and you didn't understand. Imbecile.

[a lot of aggressive gibberish]

Scott, you need to take a few steps back and get a grip of yourself. One, you forgot your last rank, and they tell me that's a no-no for a veteran. Two, I never said that you committed a crime, though technically your expletives are slander, which is illegal, though certainly excusable in the light of your agitation and your general lack of manners and maturity. Three, even if your pal CobraJet applauds your bratty conduct, you can be sure most people who read your diatribes see you as a very juvenile and insecure person, not the big guy you want to be seen as.

Actually I left my rank out of my sig on purpose, and it's not a no-no. If you're a vet then why would you need to be told this by "they", whoever "they" are.

You stated that you could sue me for what I'd said, so, yes you DID say that I had committed a civil crime. Do I need to quote you to yourself, AGAIN?

Actually, slander is an oral communication of a false statement injurious to a person's reputation. This has all been in textual form so I really needn't go further, but, to go on... You would have to prove that what I said was false, then, you'd have to prove that it injured your reputation. You may be able to prove the first (regarding your needing to shit your own head out of your ass), however, your reputation hasn't been sullied in any way, shape, or form. We ALL think your an ignorant, arrogant, asshole. How could I have made that any worse?

Manners? I've been nothing but honest about both our positions. Neither misrepresenting yours nor backing off on mine. I even provide proof each time you misquote or remove statements from context. Unlike you, I can back up what I say. You have not been able to do any of the above, continually misrepresenting and maligning anything in response to your drivel. I've held you accountable for things you've said, and proven you said them even after you denied saying it when I showed you wrong. Manners have very little to do with public debate. If you can't handle the backlash because you chose to word something incorrectly that could later be used against you, well, that's your own damn fault. Be able to back your shit up before you put fingers to keyboard.

For the second part of that... a reasonable definition of Mature is, "Worked out fully by the mind". Something which you apparently lack the skill to do.

You are the person who can't face facts when confronted with them. You ignore them or go off on some other tangent which is irrelevant to the discussion at hand. I do my research before responding to your lunatic posts. You just go off on a rant throwing relevance, honesty, and truth to the wind. As I've said multiple times, you are intellectually dishonest and deflect to a different subject when faced with facts that disprove your position. You made this personal, not me or CJ.

Your posts are becoming insipid. You have a circumscribed mind and you are totally impracticable. Enough with the big words. Now, if you hurry to the grocery store, you may be able to get enough cans of beans to complete your anocraniectomy before time for work in the morning. *Plonk*

A threat of physical violence, coupled by the present ability to commit it, is assault. Running your mouth on Usenet doesn't qualify.

Nor do you. Otherwise, you'd know there's no 'e' in 'tort', even in its plural form. But that *might* constitute a pastry ...

No it wouldn't. One element of assault is fear. Another is present ability. Neither one has anything to do with pastry.

With all due respect (so you don't kick *my* ass), when it comes to offering opinions on the law, so are you.
