I know their sales department is terrible(search "Rosenthal Nissan" on
>deja.com) but I was wondering if their service department was any >different...
I can't speak to the Nissan service there too much, since I own a Mazda. However it's generally the same service shop for both.
I've never had a problem with them working on my Miatae there, though I haven't been there in a couple years (since we live further away now). But I also think that had a lot to do with the particular people I was dealing with, as far as *my* experience was concerned. But whenever I brought my car by, they did the work professionally, fairly quickly, and correctly.
Given other options, however, I would not take my car there because their sales organization is a nightmare (I've bought two cars there, the second *only* because of the service manager that I was dealing with, and because I knew I could beat the sales organization around a little and get out of there quickly), and it's indicative of upper management.
Oil Changes and basic maintenance, I highly recommend Valvoline Instant Oil Change (specifically the one in Sterling, VA). They've also done some diagnostic and repair work on my wife's Explorer, and they've been good and treat us very well.
