Does anyone know whether the auto trans in an 85 Nissan Sentra has a filter? Service manual does not mention one. There is a drain plug on the transmission so fluid change would not require removing the pan if no filter is present.
Trans filter in 85 Sentra?

There is -usually- some device to trap metallic particles. Pulling the pan isn't usually that big of a deal if it is accessible.
It has a screen not a filter. If this screen is plugged up enough to cause any problems, the transmission is junk anyway. They aren't designed to need to be serviced, just change the fluid.
