307 HDI 5dr Stiff steering?

I've traded in a 3dr 51 plate 307 HDI which had light steering however this



5dr 03 plate i've just got seems very stiff steering for manouvering etc,is this normal or is there something wrong with this car?

Has it a different engine or tyre sizes? Extra weight of a diesel and wide wheels would change the feel.
