Is it normal for the rev counter needle to bounce once before settling to idle speed? It's not a problem but wondered if it was a feature of the injection system, seems to have started since the cold weather. Car is a 200

Can happen - depending on how you drive. Mine does it if, when approaching a junction, I dip the clutch and put it into neutral when at low revs (but still going forwards). Think it is something to do with the anti-stall mechanism and emission control system (think when you back off the accelerator it chucks loads of air in to keep the emissions sweet - but could be wrong on this).
I have a 97 1.6 (16v k series- coupe). Mine also has a 'winter only' problem. If I pull up at a junction with main beam and heated rear window on, the revs either drop really low (about 250) then recovers or stalls. Doesn't always do it either - especially if I'm trying to show the problem to someone else! I've learned to live with it by switching off the RHW when I'm in traffic - approaching a junction.
All said though - its the best and fastest 1.6 I've ever driven - excellent fuel economy too. Really like my car - so can put up with its moods ;)

Yeah, I really like my 1.4 16v - much swifter than my 1.6 Cordoba and uses considerably less fuel!
