Or a least it feels that way when going over a bump. It feels like the driver front is shaking back and forth like a fish wiggles... only way I can explain it .. but it isn't constant just when I hit a ruff spot in the road or bump.
Recently had the upper fron strut mounts replaced for one was knocking but this is a new problem.

I had a similar experience with another car of mine. It quickly turned into very violent shaking at highway speeds, but only after I hit a bump or something else to perturb it. It turned out that I needed new tie rods.

Could be a couple a things. Not sure bout '96 models, but later year S models had trouble with alignments and sometimes possibly needed a front strut dampener added on to resolve shaking as you described.
Points to look for:
alignment problems wheel balance tire/wheel out of round front dampener strut (saturn may offer to install this only if needed)

Well all is fine... I replaced the front struts and that solved the problem. Tomorrow I will replace the rears then get it aligned.
