55 Commander coupe

Take a look at the 55 coupe I will be listing on ebay for a friend. It is a no rust AZ car all the chrome has been done and it looks great. I would like feedback on what you guys think it will bring. The owner and I are unsure what to put the reserve at.All feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Jerry, that is a fine-looking Commander. As far as value goes, I have a few vague thoughts:

  1. It's not a Speedster, so it won't fetch a Speedster price.
  2. It's a '55, not a '53-'54, which are the "classic" iterations of the design, perhaps a little less sought-after.
  3. Looks like restoration is not 100% authentic in the interior.
  4. Notwithstanding the above, it should be a nice driver.

I'm guessing it should sell between 6 and 10 thousand? As far as the reserve goes, set it at the figure the owner needs to have to let the car go. Set the Buy It Now at what will make him do his happy dance.

Is that Rodney's old car? Rodney Kightlinger was a member for a time then lost track of him. Memory being fuzzy as it is, I think Lew Dandurand had bought his car. I think the body tag listed it as a C-3, hense the no butterknife side trim

I'm going with 12K plus.

Me too. Rust free counts for a lot, and not having to do all the chrome saves a lot of money.

Thanks for the input Gord but if he would take 6K it would stay in my garage. There is more than that in the chrome & paint.

I hope your right JP. I think I will try 10K reserve and see what happens. Thanks

Well, Jerry, JP is probably much more tuned into the market than I am. But still, set the reserve at a value that the seller COULD live with, and set a BIN that would make him think he's hit the jackpot. If it sells anuwhere between, he should be happy.
