I was in the shed at the new house today and started feeling kind of sick to my stomach..then I noticed a poster of a new Mustang on one of the walls....it is now exorcised and I feel fine... Studebaker George

Fords attempt to copy the Avanti, but where the Avanti might have been a Lark in a gilded cage the Mustang was just a Falcon in drag.

Actually,when the Mustang came out,I remember it being the coolest thing on 4 wheels.I have no memory of Avanti from that period...[I was only 12 yrs old]
I remember believing a year's worth of publicity of the mid-engine V4 "Mustang I" show car, which was hyped as a prototype, then seeing the actual Mustang. I got the same feeling in my stomach reported above. I have never again expected anything meaningful from Detroit.
I should have put a "" after my comment, I wasn't really serious... not that there isn't a bit of truth to it .
