Livin' in the country OT

In GB, I lived in Coventry and worked 18 miles away in Birmingham. Ten miles of this was "Green Belt" and probably always will be. Several times a year I got great pleasure watching the new-born lambs learning to walk, as I commuted by their fields at 60 MPH. I miss that here, outside of San Diego.

Also, when a new radio network (Classic FM) came on the air there, they wanted to test and tune the transmitters and check coverage. Not beng allowed to play music or chatter, they put a mike out in a field and broadcast "country sounds." Delightful, including the sound of a tractor from a nearby field. I still have a tape of it around, somewhere. It would make a good "sleep tape."

Green belts are wonderful, as long as they stay protected.They clean the mind as well as the air.

This all reminde me of a woman in Engalnd who used to throw snails from her garden as far as she could into the adjacent woods. One day she noticed that one of them had a strange marking on it's shell - one that she had seen before.

Thereafter she would make a "Liquid Paper" mark on the shell before se threwn them and soon noticed that they were travelling back to he place.
