Radio Stays on After Shutting off Ignition

Sep 29, 2005 5 Replies

I found only one other reference to this. A few days ago, the radio in my 2003 Baja has been staying on for a few seconds after I shut everything off with the ignition key. It is the stock radio and I hope this is not a sign that something is starting to go wrong. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

If it is normal operation for the radio to stay on why did it just start happening after two years?

It took that long for the capacitor to charge up? :-)

Sorry, I have no idea.

A couple of times in my '03 Forester, the radio failed to come on but came back when I turned off the ignition and turned it back on. I figured there was something twitchy about the switch. Not a serious enough problem to bring to dealer's attention since it has not happened again in months. Frank
