Subary consumer affairs

I talked with subaru consumer affairs and learned that if the paint is factory defect, it would be under warranty. The paint problem on the front bumper might pass for factory defect. It would ahve to be determined.

My question is during the repair under warranty, do I get a rental car to use?

Its up to the dealer's discretion. Typically, no.

Some people do. Others rely on friends for transportation while they're without their car. People also use public transportation, bicycles, and their FEET!

If you're asking if SUBARU will provide one, you need to ask THEM. Some dealers do provide transportation, others don't. It's their call to set their own policies.

Having had the rear bumber re-painted on my '03 Impreza under warranty I can tell you that a rental car is not included in the warranty. Fortunately the body shop that did the work was willing to lend me a car while they did the work.

At most dealers, yes.

Unless you've burned your bridges there.

Well...they still want to sell me extended warranty but I doubt that I would drive 55 miles to do any repair work under warranty or anything that I would have to pay for.

Well...in this case, they are not doing the whole bumper anyway. In a way, I prefer the original factory paint and since I do not plan to sell this car, I decided to allow them to do touch up especially since it's not somehting people can see unless they are looking for it. I am even thinking to leave it like that.

What I have tried to do this morning is to see whether they would put the spalsh guard (I already bought and sitting in the trunk) for free. I would evevn like it better if they put that for me in exchnage for the paint touch up but I am not askign that just so that I could reduce stress and move on with my life. I already sold my old car, bought new car and ready for Fall. A friend of mine coming from out of state and we plan to get out of town, etc.
