For most people those yellow "Support the Troops" magnets really mean "I support the war as long as someone else is fighting and paying for it". Sad, really.

For some, it means "You are not allowed to oppose the reason for the war. Welcome to the USSR, version 2.0."

Whereas I get the impression they usually mean: "I support the war & if you don't, then you're an idiot & most likely unpatriotic."

But that is basically true: most lefties are not idiotic...some are very intelligent but hopelessly naive, viewing terrorism and international politics through rose-coloured glasses. The accusation of lack of patriotism comes from lefties continued attacks on your U.S. government when your continue and ours (Canada) are, for all intents, at WAR in the Middle East. Sorry, but when countries are at war, the media SHOULD be controlled. Can you just imagine if there was an uncontrolled media during WWII? The lefties back then, known for their isolationism, were already whining loudly, calling WWII "Roosevelt's War". Believe it, it is true. FDR had to wait until U.S. territory was actually attacked before he dared expand the war to the Pacific...even though it was obvious long before than it was just a matter of time before Japan, an AXIS ally, made their insance lunge.
