Is an environuts a source one is to believe? Coulda, shoulda, woulda. One must look at what is happing today, not in the past. The fact is Republican TODAY are trying to pass legislation to open up new area in which to look for oil and to allow for drilling in areas off shore that were restricted in the past, to reduce our dependence on obtaining oil from those that do not like us. There is no question that it is the Dim controlled Congress that is stopping things TODAY.

"JoeSpareBedroom" wrote in . The original moratorium on drilling off

Even if what you heard was true, would that not be better than having it go up ten cents every week? ;)

Actually, Bush stopped it.

Who was taking about drilling 25 miles of the cost of Florida, not me? I was referring to the Gulf of Mexico. The Republicans, when they controlled the Congress, passed legislation that would have open up to drilling by US companies in areas next to where other countries like Cuba and Mexico were already drilling. President Clinton vetoed the bill and the Republican lacked the 60 votes needed to override. In the current Dim controlled Congress the Dims voted against the nearly same bill, introduced by the Republicans.

A search of the Congressional Record will clearly show it has been the Dims that are stopping all legislation to obtain more of our own oil, be in the lower 48, Alaska or our territorial waters.

It is unimaginable how one can possibly be so naive' as to believe it is the Republicans, who the Dims claim are controlled by the oil companies and try to give the impression that the President and the Vice President are making money on their on their non existent "oil company stock," would be the ones against drilling for more of our own oil.

As I said, I don't give any credit to the SC at all. They're a bunch of k00ks.

BULLSHIT. If they provide a link to a government site which proves you wrong, you won't read it because as I've taught you many times, you are an oversized child.

I might be. The government is full of Liberal k00ks, too.

In that case, there is NO source you would believe, except for three:

1) Your geologist friends

2) Rush Limbaugh

3) Your dick

ROFLMAO. JoeNoBedroom accusing Hachi of being an oversized child. That's like the pot calling the window pane black.

Charles the Curmudgeon

Don't get me wrong, I think dims and those who call themselves pugs have been screwing this country over for years.

Dang I sure get confused! One minute we have people on here claiming that Bush conspires "with his oil company buddies" to *stop* drilling our own oil, and the next minute it's claimed that Bush conspires "with his oil company buddies" to drill (in ANWR). So supposedly Bush ("with his oil company buddies") personally gains when they drill *and* when they don't drill. How does that work!? Seems like the two "evil acts" would negate each other. LOL!

What happened to the kettle?

You can see right through the window pane...

Does that mean we can see right through you or that Joe is black and likes pot?

He arranged to prevent drilling in certain areas off the coast of Florida because his brother told him to. There is no debating this, and there have been plenty of articles provided in this newsgroup which explain why GWB did what his brother told him to do.

At the same time, he supports drilling in ANWR.

Why do you have a problem with the facts?

The fact is there is a difference in drilling 25 miles out and off shore waters out in the Gulf, where other countries are drilling, dummy. That idiotic leasing restriction came under you buddy Clinton in 1998. President Bush tried to lift that restriction but the DIMS in Congress prevented passage of that legislation. Do a search of the Congressional Record and see for yourself, before you come up with yet another stupid reply you racist

The "other countries drilling" issue dates back 30 years, well before Clinton. It's due to a treaty signed in 1977, which all presidents have expressed support for, including George W. Bush.

Like I said does a search of the Congressional Record and see for yourself, before you come up with yet another stupid reply you racist. It was the Dims and Congress an Clinton the put in place the lease restrictions in

1989.
