OT - JSB - what do ya' think of...

These occurrences aren't just in California, Joe. But you're right about non-involvement of parents. I was a thorn in the flesh for our district when my kids were in the system.

I'm leaving California asap. Likely within three years. It's hopeless here.

Some of the other participants in this group love to complain about problems with education, but I'm quite sure they're just parroting what the Borg mother ship told them, and they've never set foot in their children's schools except for maybe a football game or a bake sale.

Idiot!!!

You have NO clue at all.

Neither do you. Otherwise, you would be able to explain your theories.

Let's try another possible idea: In Iraq, we're only killing the ones who want to attack us. If they express an interest in attacking other countries, we leave them alone.

Damned if I'll make any more attempts at explaining them to you. You play games and waste peoples time. Go jump in a lake.

Headscarves in schools. Headscarves in public. Headscarves in restaurants. Headscarves...headscarves...headscarves. They talked about headscarves every third day for about 6 weeks.

WHO CARES?!?!?!

HAY! I was gonna say that!!

Not if you live in a country run by Al-Qaeda or radical Muslims. And the way they're crossing the borders of ALL countries, be prepared.

How much Spanish have you learned?

Free Choice? Where?

Illinois, where Jell-O was taken off the menu because it might offend TWO Muslim kids? What about the other 998 kids in the school? Where is their freedom of choice?

See what I mean yet?

My friend's wife is a grammar school teacher. She has one student, ONE, who's allergic to peanuts. Not lethally so, but gets the itchy-scratchies.

Mom has made sure that NO child in that classroom can have a PB&J sandwich, or anything that has peanuts in it. That means a classroom full of kids have parents that must check each and every item that goes into their lunchboxes.

His wife wants to leave the profession. She's fed up with the bureaucracy.

In reality (terms of nutrition), no great loss there... Although I certainly get what your point is.

because it might offend TWO

That's just plain *weird*.

Beleive me, a lot of teachers - & admin. - feel that way. It's ("it" incl. NCLB stuff, which hits the State level, which hits the local level...) getting more & more ridiculous. One can't just go in & *teach* - using one's common sense - any more.

Arghhh. How about: Believe me...

Cathy

Witless, you are probably lying again. Seems like a lot of trouble for "itchy-scratchies." For some asthmatic children peanuts can be fatal. That means DEAD.

Welcome to California. Remember: As California goes, so goes the nation.

Scary, huh?

Give that woman a....never mind. ;-P

NCLB stands alone as crazy but thats what it was designed for (in spite of its name). As for food allergies:

I was at the Greek Theater one night a few years ago and a teenage girl who was allergic to peanuts inadvertently ate something that had a small amount of peanuts in it. She was only a few rows below us. Her bronchial tubes swelled up and she couldn't breathe. By the time a doctor reached her she had lost consciousness and couldn't be revived.

I have had problems with adult onset asthma and in those days pretty much always carried an inhaler that dilates the bronchial tubes in an emergency, but that night I forgot it. She had forgotten hers also.

You have made NO attempt to explain anything. If you disagree, find the text you posted, which you think represents an explanation. Cut & paste it into your next message.

That was stupid. But, you claimed certain countries suffered AQ attacks because Muslim girls were allowed to wear head scarves in school. That is an unbelievably stupid thing to say, connecting fabric with subway bombings. Not surprising, though, coming from you.

I would kill anyone who attempted to force their religion on me, and I'd eat their flesh while their children watched in horror. So, your fears don't apply to me.

Why do you ask?

So what? Don't listen. Around 6:18 PM, the local news programs start talking about sports. I turn it off.

Their first attempt was 9/11

Because chances are you have assimilated some. When the Muslim population grows more, at the present rate, you'll be subjected to more. And then when the Koran thumpers get in your face, infidel, what will you do?
