Any parent, at least in this state, who relies upon the public school system as their child's sole source of education is derelict in their duties.
For a starter, it's very easy to teach your child to read before they enter kindergarten. That gives them a three year head start over their peers in this state.

I'm talking about parents who convey nothing about sex to their kids. Zero. Nada. I'm not talking about helping them read.
So, to repeat the question:
What about the significant numbers of parents who convey no information at all to their kids? What do you think we should do about the RESULTS OF that trend? I said RESULTS OF, in case you read it too quickly to notice.

It still falls into my answer's content. Many parents are lazy. No matter the subject.
Ignorant of, and afraid of, many subjects. Sex is only one.

You're a lousy dancer And here's the answer
Anyone who's got a problem with sex ed in school has no business opening their mouth about STDs, or about single mothers who they perceive to be leeches on society.

President Clinton taught us oral sex is not sex.

How do you know whether they track sucj statistics the same way we do?
J

Irrelevant, but I suppose you just needed to say something. Anything.
J

How do you know they don't?

IS the NEA a conservative organization?

It's funny how the public education system thinks only more money will fix their problems. They keep getting more money all the time but keep turning out illiterate, drug-addicted, socially incapable sexual deviants. Thank God there are many parents who are able to unteach the trash they are putting in those children's minds.

What makes you think it is the parents who are giving no/bad information? I would say it is the crowd the kids are hanging out with. Now THAT is the parent's fault.

You're getting off track. You're not able to answer ONE question, so don't make your life difficult by adding another until you're done with the first question.
What about the significant numbers of parents who convey no information at all to their kids? What do you think we should do about the RESULTS OF that trend? I said RESULTS OF, in case you read it too quickly to notice.

I can't believe you just said that about your kids and/or grandkids.

My kids go to private school. We sacrifice many niceties in life so we have a say-so in what our children are learning in school.

As far as you know. You've never sat in a class to observe.

LOL, he managed to get 5 stereotypes into one paragraph.

Human beings are primarily emotional creatures. No matter what kind of school they go to they are at a disadvantage in the larger game of life if their role models are frightened, unloving, judgmental two dimensional thinkers who portray everything as black and white, good and evil, smart and stupid.
It can be ugly when the chickens come home.

Your opinion. ( I wonder how Scott will turn this into his imaginary circle jerk scenario)
That's no answer at all. IMO, the public school system has no business whatsoever performing sex ed, unless strictly about biology...
...until they can do a proper job doing what they should be doing.
As long as we keep graduating illiterates, such as those here who can't spell worth a damn, they're failing.

Not even close. You can't believe what they espouse outside of public scrutiny.

"Performing" sex ed? LOL, Freudian slip or repressed fantasy from high school?
In a nice middle class world like we once had I would agree, but that is long gone. The conservative world of Reaganomics requires more and more families to have both parents working. Somethings gotta give. School teachers have become baby sitters as well as teachers and are doing a much better job than all you righty's claim.
But..., face it, becoming a third world country has a price and there are hallmarks on the journey. More and more uneducated citizens is inevitable. Forget the tea leaves, just apply market principles to sociology and bingo! you see the future. ;)
