Why do you feel that way about Ronald Reagan and Fred Thompson?

My respect for politicians as far as politics goes is even lower.

Agreed. Few from either party have earned any kind of respect.

Celebrities should keep their politics to themselves. They often forget that they're merely hired help, and temps at that.

Do you remember Bill Mahr's old Politically Incorrect discussion program, where half the guests would be from politics and the other half from show business. The latter guests were usually better informed and more intelligent than the politicos.

I suppose that depends on a great many things. Subject matter being one.

Maher gets no respect from me at all. He's intellectually dishonest and a charlatan. Proof beyond doubt was given during a recent incident which had a 9/11 conspiracy nut heckling from the back of the audience. Maher gets up and starts marching down the aisle threatening to "kick your ass".

Boy that was convincing. Particularly considering his physical size and his obvious waiting until security had created a buffer.

"Should", "should", "should", the cry of the frustrated, wingless, right wing loony bird.

LMAO, lets talk some more about Coultergeist.

He took control of the situation and the guy was thrown out. What was he supposed to do, tell the hired security to stand aside? If one of your right wingnuts had done the same thing you'd be cheering.

Where is Mario Cuomo when we need him?

They are what we make them, as for politicians that is. Actors and entertainers make themselves.
