Does anyone know if heads from a 2002 Toyota Highlander engine (1MZ) interchange or fit onto a 1995 Toyota Avalon engine block (1MZ)?

I would venture to guess that a few changes have been made from your Avalon which had a much earlier version of the 1MZ vs the Highlander. I remember your posts from a while back, the P1300 & PO130 guy, right? What did you ever determine to be the problem with the Avalon?
Hey qslim!
Yeah, I'm the same guy that had questions about the codes. I determined that I have a burnt valve. So, I decided to replace both heads. I've found some heads but they're from a 02 Highlander, consequently generating my current question. But, on the other hand, if I can find a relatively low mileage engine I'd gladly drop it in.

Yeah, I couldn't really tell you if it would fit. I'm pretty sure that the Highlander has variable valve timing, which would mean that it has a couple of oil control valves in each head, and yours doesn't. So that could be a problem, plus I'm sure that various sensor locations would be different also. I'd bet it would be a whole lot less headache to get something specific to your Avalon.
Okay, thanks a lot for your input!
