One button - doesn't sound like it is OEM. Suspect battery is dead - see if you have instruction in glove box should you have to reprogram it after changing battery. Most yota fobs seem to have lock, unlock and a red panic on back - newer ones have trunk release too.
Thanks for that. Any idea where to get instructions to reprogram?
no instructions in glove box!!!
Try to determine make of unit - any indication on key? Does it look like OEM Yota key? Some regions seem to add extra cost non-OEM stuff to boost their profits so perhaps you are in one of those regions and the local dealership knows about it. Can you open key top to get to the battery - may say something inside that gives idea of manf. Most likely the control unit is either in Rt kick panel or the panel under the steering wheel - that would surely have manf and model. Worse case is rip out and replace with aftermarket alarm system with new fobs (~$75-200).
does not sound OEM. should be after market.. check under steering column to see if there is a "black box" for the remote/alarm
it will say toyota or denso
