Tires for 99 Camry

I am looking for tires for my 1999 Camry LE V6. Currently I have Eagle GAs (Goodyear) and looking for something longer lasting and quiet riding. My choices are GY Assurance TripleTred or Michelin Symmetry. The car originally came with H rated tires, not sure if I need to replace with H Rated only? I live in New Jersey so some snow traction is required. Anyone has any experience on these tires? How do they ride? Thanks Kar

Consumer reports and some car magizines often rate tires. Michelin is always good.

I have some new michelin Harmony on my Camry and they are smooth and quiet.

I would definately stick with the same speed rated tires for safety reasons. Shocked at price on Michelines I went with Bridgestones for nealy 1/2 the price (CostCo).

I bought the Michelin X Radial from Costco for my 97 Camry and am well pleased with them. They were barely more expensive than the Bridgestone model they had.

The Michelin X is NOT an H rated tire --- which all Camry's come from the factory with.. The correct H Michelin at CostCo was the special order XG4 Pilot at $109+ each. The Michelin Energy MXV4 is also an appropriate - less costly tire but it isn't all season.

my car came with dunlops in 5 yrs 60000m they got rock hard Oxidised and skid dry and bad wet. Even Toyota thought it was the brakes on many dealer and rep complaints. I put on michelins 5 yrs later grip is great Ive had michelins go 112000, You pay more but better than a set of firestones for saftey. Any body remember the 500s in the 70s- 80s that blew at 55. There are alot of good tires, ratings tests help as improvements happen yearly and some shine where other lag , ex wet braking tests.

Recommended tires for '99 camry are S rated though many people use T rated generally I think. It doesn't need H rated tires.

Consider TOYO tires as well. TOYO sprectrum is cheap and all season.

My LEV6 Sedan came with 205/65/15 92H Eagles. Thanks for all your comments. I have decided to go with GY Tripletred even though they are T Rated, they seem to have better reviews than Michelin Symmetrys.

Karthik,

Yokohama YK420s are really really nice tires. The car handles amazingly well with them, ride is smooth, warranty is great too.

I would suggest you look into those; Discount Tire / America's Tire Co sell them.

Jay.
