My 98 4runner has a minor (but annoying) problem. The cig. lighter/ accessory plug-in has stopped working. I checked the fuses under the dash and under the hood and they all appear to be OK. The owner's manual really does not do a very good job saying which fuse operates this outlet but I checked all of them and switched out the most likely ones. No help. The Acc. outlet in the rear still works. Any ideas on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
I had the same problem in my '97 4-Runner. I was powering a portable air pump with it one day and then it quit working. There was power in the wires leading up to the lighter. Had the lighter replaced and it works just fine now. Apparently the lighter can burn it self out after powering something continuously for a while. I don't plan on using the lighter to power a portable air pump in the future.
