34 ict problems ??

in st. louis, mo our local, and i think only, vw supply house told us that they will no longer carry the dual weber 34 ict's due to tuning problems that seem to have recently happened with ALL of them. they claim that the carbs will not run worth a crap, even with changing a few items. he also added that this problem has occurred only recently.

has anyone else had a similar experience with these??? i am wanting a pair for a 73 bus, but will stay away if there does seem to be a problem.

34 ICTs are horrible carbs IMO, even coming with the wrong jets from the factory, to properly run on a VW. Save yourself some grief and run dual IDFs.

hows about a pair of 40 dcnf's ??? i have a set but with t1 manifolds and linkage. this is going to go into a 73 bus with a 1.8 liter, headers with heater boxes and a mild cam.

IDFs. DCNFs are good carbs, but you'll spend a fortune getting intakes and filters for them, AND if you ever need spare parts it will take a while.
