Am I "back"? Well I never did "leave", but truth be told I don't read much at all here anymore, too much other things taking up my time. But I still feel I have some pretty deep roots here, still appreciate all you guys and trust me, I'll never leave this hobby. You know where to find me, either at thebugshop.org (which I have horribly neglected last year+) or zarwerks.com which is taking up tons of my time, but it is fun and is paying for lots of VW stuff (and keeping my wife happy that I am staying out of the "household" checking account!)

Good to see you posting John. For those who do not know, John Henry was actually the first King of Ramva, before Jan took the crown away. :o) Sorry about posting about the 51, but that was one secret that I could not keep. :o)

John, First off.... Great to see you back again and as always I really enjoyed the pictures of the "new" 51 split. You have just confirmed the fact that when my kids are off to college UP NORTH We're packing our bags and headed up that way.... Where and How do you find old VW's in barns??? Surely not down here in Texas!!! Heck, you're lucky to find a barn here. Anyway... again it's good to have you back!!

Does this mean that you will be upgrading to a double wide Beetle Box. A better idea would be to expand the 2 car garage to a 6 car (for future additions) and add A/C & Heat, Restroom, Beer Fridge, Large Flat Screen TV, and whatever else would make you comfortable while working on the Vdubs.

If you can believe it, my wife has given me approval to build a "Beetle Barn" in the woods behind the house next year. I'm still drawing up plans, and hopefully won't have any problem with the town hall and the wetlands that are way back behind the house. I'm hoping to build a poured slab 24x28 ft building, probably steel pre-fab. Yes they are ugly, but cheap, zero maintenance, and I can hide it very will with scrub pines.

And yes, the door will have a lock... ;-)

You have to look in the right barns (or garages.) One of my '59s came out of a garage at a garage sale. All of our cars were bargains of one kind or another...why else do you think we have them??? John, good to hear all is well up in frost land. But I hate you. LOL just kidding!!!

Congrats on the find and giving it a good home. Since you don't have a proper storage site for it I can store it at my house and I will not tell you where I live, I will just come get it and take it home. You can rest easy knowing I have it and will take good care of it till you finally find me and take it back with force.......LOL.
