disc brake question

Aug 25, 2003 1 Replies

I am rebuilding the front end on a '69 Type 1. It now has new ball joints lowered spindles (disc) new discs, calipers, etc.

I have the backing plates, but the spindles have no mounting holes for the backing plate.

Q. Is it worth the trouble to drill and tap holes so that I can mount the backing plates??

Discs don't need them. Also according to our very strict laws. Pros and cons exist. End result: don't spend too much time trying to fit them in.
