failed test

Hello before looking at my Haynes manual tonight, just guaging some real world advice.

'74 std beetle, ball joint.

Left front tyre rubs on suspension arm at full right lock. Can this be adjusted easilly ? Is replacing rear shocks a sod, or is it fairly straight forward?

other classic failure points. Horn has poor sound ( moose!) get this, the high beam light inoperable !!

oh yeah, and right heater channel rotten ( git)

thats it !

any help gladly received. I have one week to get this sorted.

Hope so. Will wire brush the crud off & short the earth wire a few times to check its not the wiring

Its the warning light only ! Just fixed it. The spade connector had come adrift from the little sprung plastic disk in the bulb holder. A pair of needle nosed pliers & leaning on it !

Duct tape?

yeah, i can see that happing (not) . The bloke practically smashed it to pieces. Mind you, it left a horrible rusty pile on his floor !

Sounds like somebody is getting their M.O.T. done. Have you tried leaving a case of beer on the front seat yet? Dan

Well....it looks a little like that. (The pic is for a Super Beetle.) But it's the heavy cast arm at the bottom of the steering gear box. The bracket with stop screws is welded to the axle beam. Jimmmmmmmmmmmmmm
