Had to break out the power tools already.

I couldn't stand it. Had a few beers, walked outside, looked at the bug. Had an idea and it involved power tools. Half an hour, half a cigar, and one beer later... Much better. Who'd have thought that about $2 worth of "stuff" and one power tool and a half hour of work could make that much difference? :-) Oh, by the way I got the title transfer thing notarized today and have added the bug to my insurance and drove about 45 minutes (since I'm in the middle of nowhere now) today to get tags for the bug (I have a personalized plate in mind) and to get the title put in my name and the woman there very rudely told me I had to have proof of insurance to apply for the title and plate thing. Not a good way to end the day. So I drove the truck back home and swapped the plate from it back over to the bug so I can drive it any damn way. I guess they showed me. HO HO HO! Hmm... Tough crowd or has it just gotten quiet around here? All I did was clean up the rear aftermarket bumper some with a wire wheel on my drill and then spray some of that chrome spray paint on it afterwards. It had a ton of surface rust on it. Looks a little better now, but not great.

Heck I was disappointed that's all he did. :/ Clean some stuff up? What in the heck for? :/

It'll just get dirty again and it didn't make it run any better. ;)

Alvin in AZ ps- had a '67 bug called "the junk heap" pps- but it friggin ran and handled great :)

Oh dear'y me, lets not provoke the monster within.

I think Travis is doing brilliant, except for the fact he is now living far beyond the reach of a local pub!

Hard to grasp for a city boy (No, not "Squeal like a pig boy!!") like me..

Jan used to be one of us, but now he has converted.. :)

Good on you Travis, send us some pics of the new hacienda.

I'm being nice to the car, or at least what I consider to be nice. :-) Still getting the final details of a decent internet connection worked out so will post some pictures soon. I took off the front turn signal housings and cleaned them up really good too, and also the side-view mirror. I'm thinking about doing a rattle-can job on the whole car and painting it "Rustoleum White." Oh, I also did the wire brush treatment on the hubcaps and WOW did that ever make a huge difference. They look GREAT now. Really got rid of the rust. Hmmm..... Still having some work done on the house, too. Just had the flooring ripped up downstairs and replaced with some of that fake hardwood floor stuff. Looks really nice now. Finished setting up the garage Monday morning but still have a bunch of boxes out there that we'll move into the storage building in the back yard. That is, after I build the storage building. I'm really enjoying the country life. Walked out into my back yard Saturday afternoon and shot a few handguns for a while for fun and nobody came by to complain. Probably because they were too far away to hear me shooting. :-) Hopefully will get a license plate for the car today or tomorrow. Waiting to receive proof of insurance from Geico so I can bring it to the DMV to get the plate. I've decided on what the personalize plate is going to be. I'll post up a picture once I've gotten it so I can enjoy feedback from y'all on it.
