Hey, get them an alpaca. They aren't nearly as big and you could easily keep a couple of them in your backyard.

Or better yet, move out to a farm. All kids need to spend some time on a farm. They learn all sorts of things that city kids will never know or understand.

My wife and I have always said we live in the wrong state. We both love cold weather and hate the heat. As soon as the girls are off to college (UP NORTH) we're packing up and headed out. A farm would be great... don't know a thing about farming, I guess one can always learn. Kids asked to take more pictures of the baby.

You want cold ? Come on up. Nebraska gets damned cold and wet during the winter. In fact, it's supposed to get down to 18 tommorow night and maybe some snow to go with it.

It also gets real hot and dry here in the summer.

Should be entertaining as the National Llama show is being held here. People from all over the country start showing up tommorow and alot of them are from the south and west. They are going to freeze all sorts of body parts off. Me included. I'm working out at the front gate early in the mornings when it's the coldest. But at least I have the clothes for it.

I've taken quite a few pictures of the baby. I can email some to you if you want. Haven't had a chance to make any webpages yet. I need to move a few websites so I have more room on my own account.

When Pico's time comes, I'm think a Llama would be smart. I already know they are great guardians, but can you housebreak 'em?

Molly and I did Highway 30 in Nebraska and it was just downright great. It's the urban thing that's bad - everywhere I've been, anyway.

Yep. You actually mark where you want them to go. And thats where they will go. They make lots of trips to schools, hospitals, nursing homes, etc and never heard of 1 having an accident inside.

You get away from Omaha & Lincoln and the urban sprawl around them, it's not a bad place. But the taxes are still high all over the state. I pay around $3600 a year in property taxes just on my little 3.5 acres. And then they tax everything else high to like gas.

My gosh, I had no idea. I'm almost afraid to tell Molly. Okay, we will do some research - space required, diet, shelter, how high a fence, all that.

That's just friggin outrageous! Never mind. I don't need to bum you out, but I gotta wonder where it all goes. See you in Missouri, Randy.

Molly is excited about this. Alpacas? Similar? (Man, I'm really trying to find some ACVW content here... let's see... Pico won't fit into a Bug and neither will a Llama!) Did it!

Ah,but they'll both fit into a bus easily.Anyone remember the old ad with the giraffe poking out the sunroof of a splitty?Something about the most headroom.Steve

I don't know much about alpacas other then they are quite a bit more expensive and seem to have dull personalities.

There are some pretty nice llama farms in your area if you want to take a visit. Most llama folks enjoy visits.

And no, an adult llama will not fit in or on a bug. A baby llama would fit nicely in the back seat and have room to spare. They tend to just lay down while traveling. Pass gas frequently to let you know they are there.

To me the hardest part of llamas is giving them shots and trimming their toenails. The rest is fairly easy unless you get one that hates being sheared. Got one of those. He keeps it exciting.

We won't even get started on all the sales taxes. We even taxed on auto repair services, house repair & remodels, etc.. Can't think of single thing we don't pay taxes on.

Yep, missouri looks awfully good. Thats where alot of my family is from back in the 1800's. Hillbillys to be sure. My moms family even has a prison named after them there.

I've thought about using a bus for hauling llamas. I was concerned about the heat from the engine causing them problems.

Randy, You need to keep going south down I-35. I live in the suburbs of Oklahoma city now, and land is cheap (about $1200 an acre) within 30 minutes of Oklahoma city. It's a pretty nice area overall. Even my roommate agrees. He's from Pierce NE in the northeast of the state. Other than college football there's really no difference form OK and NE. Don't worry, the weather's still the same.

.................Do they let NY'ers live there? We've gone past our allotment in Carolina. We've also pretty much worn out our welcome in Florida too. The Pennsylvanians & New Jersey'ites have already got dibs on Texas.

Not the entire bus, just the lid over the engine.
